As we began working on the "White Privilege" checklist in class, I was shocked by most of the situations listed. For example- paying for something in a store: Does the cashier think I stole this money? That the check will bounce? It's outrageous and it's sad to think that some people actually have to worry in a situation such as this. This shows that even though we pretend it doesn't exist, racism ( although hidden ) is still very much a part of our society.

Many items on that list really got me thinking. For many LGBT people, these items might apply as well. I guess these items could apply to many groups...women, religious minorities, ethnic minorities, etc.
