Framework of the Constitution Project

Create a poster that outlines key components of the U.S. Constitution. Your poster should include:

  • The Preamble: This is the introduction to the Constitution, starting with "We the People," and it outlines the goals of the new government.
  • Articles 1-7: These articles explain the structure and powers of the three branches of government, along with other important rules. Article I, for example, focuses on the legislative branch and contains multiple sections.
  • The Bill of Rights: Added in 1791, these first ten amendments protect individual freedoms and were important in getting the Constitution ratified.
  • Amendments 11-27: These amendments were added over time to address various changes and needs in society, including the Civil War Amendments (13, 14, 15), which abolished slavery and expanded rights, and the Voting Amendments (15, 19, 26), which expanded voting rights.

To create an exemplary poster, follow these key criteria:

  • Clear Layout: Organize sections with clear headings (Preamble, Articles 1-7, Bill of Rights, Amendments 11-27). Use boxes or columns to separate information.
  • Accuracy and Simplicity: Summarize each section accurately, keeping descriptions concise. Use bullet points for clarity.
  • Neatness and Visual Appeal: Ensure the poster is clean, avoiding overcrowding. Use small, relevant visuals to enhance understanding without distractions.
  • Balance: Focus more on important sections like the Preamble, Bill of Rights, and key amendments.
  • Creativity: Add color or icons to make the poster engaging, but don't overwhelm the content.
  • Good Use of Space: Leave enough room between sections to avoid clutter and ensure readability.
